From Nervous to Natural: Capturing Magic at the Drumheller Hoodoos

There is something so special about capturing a couples love for one another at the iconic Hoodoos. The Drumheller Hoodoos are a testament to nature’s artistry, formed over millions of years by the forces of wind and water. These towering rock formations, with their striking shapes and colours, create a dramatic and enchanting setting.

Stepping in front of a camera can be a nerve-wracking experience, especially when it’s to celebrate something as significant as an engagement. Recently, I had the pleasure of working with this wonderful couple who had never had professional photos done together. Their journey from initial jitters to genuine joy was truly heartwarming, and the Drumheller Hoodoos provided the perfect backdrop for their love story.

When it comes to capturing genuine emotions and candid moments, there's nothing quite like a good laugh to bring out the best in a couple. As a photographer, I’ve discovered that a touch of silliness can turn a nervous couple into one that radiates joy and comfort. Which is exactly what happened with this couple. They were silly, cute, passionate and affectionate. It was so fun watching them come out of their shells and truly enjoy the experience.
