The One With the Tree Lined Lane

We had been looking forward to this wedding for months. Not only were we excited to photograph this beautiful couple getting married, but it was also my first experience photographing a wedding. In the past Ryan has always gone on his own but this year we decided that I would practice my photography skills by second shooting some weddings. I could not have asked for a better first wedding to attend! Everything about it was amazing.

The day started off with the hustle and bustle of the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready. There was makeup, beautiful dresses, and delighted chatter. Everyone was excited for the day ahead. The groom and his groomsmen showed up dressed to impress. They were equally as excited as the girls. It was going to be a great day!

The wedding ceremony was located on the bride's family’s farm. There were hay bales covered in beautiful homemade quilts lining the most stunning tree lined lane. At the end of the haybales stood an archway that framed the lane way perfectly. I couldn’t get over the gorgeous floral arrangements at this wedding. As stunning as the details of this wedding were, nothing was more beautiful than the bride as she walked down the aisle. She had a glowing calmness about her as she approached the groom who was emotional at the sight of her. After exchanging the most intimate handwritten vows and sealing it all with a kiss the bride and groom climbed into an antique car and off we went to capture photos!

We started off on a piece of family owned property that overlooked the beautiful Wayne valley. Then we loaded up in beautiful antique vehicles and headed for the historic HooDoos. We were able to capture some amazing bridal party shots as well as more intimate moments between the bride and groom.
My favourite part of the day was at the HooDoos. There was a family with young kids climbing the hills overlooking where we were taking photos. As they walked past I overheard a little girl, maybe 5 or 6 years old, say to her mom “We can’t go yet mom! I want to watch the princess for a little bit longer!” Doesn’t every bride want to be mistaken for a princess on her wedding day!?

There was no lack of fun to be had at the reception. There was amazing food, personalized speeches, fun dancing, and shots! The bride and groom along with the bride's parents passed out shots to everyone and everyone did a toast to the happy couple! We couldn’t have asked for a better day!
