The One True Love

There are moments in life, when you actually take a minute and realize the meaning behind what people are saying, and you see how powerful love truly can be. This couple showed me that time and time again. They have shown me that they have found the one true love that they are meant to be with.

It started with their engagement session. For anyone that has ever had a photography session done by me in the past, you know that I can be silly and blurt out whatever comes to mind. There really is not filter built in at all. During their engagement photoshoot, I was trying to guide this couple and I asked the groom to just sniff her hair (yes I know you’re all thinking I need to get better on my posing directions, but I promise I’m like a fine wine, just getting better with time HAHA). I then blurted out “I bet it smells like lavender!”. Without even missing a beat, the groom says “It’s not lavender, she doesn’t like the smell of it”. The bride simply smiled in agreement. In that moment I had to pause and I realized how perfect this couple is. When I think about it, do I really know which fragrances my wife likes and dislikes? How many of us really know every single small detail about our partners? It was that one simple moment, I saw the power of true love.

Their true love continued on their wedding day. Besides the unspoken love that these two share, there was also a respect and love shown for each others passions. The bride had two major photo requests. There had to be some photos with the grooms work truck, as well as some photos taken at the mechanical shop where the groom works. She was so proud of her husband for how hard he works to support their family. True love is when a person is deeply proud and supportive towards their partner and this bride and groom took every opportunity to show that.

If this photography journal is teaching me anything it slow down, enjoy the simple details and look for the whole story behind the words.

Until next time,

Ryan
