The One Where We Were Adopted

This wedding was so much fun. It was calm, colourful and FULL of love. The day started off in a bustling house filled with family and food. Cousins, friends, aunts, and uncles filled the air with laughter and joy. There was more colour and sparkles than we have ever seen at a wedding and we loved every second of it!

This wedding was a family affair! One cousin officiated the wedding, while another cousin was the DJ, and a brother and a sister filled the role of MC. Meanwhile an uncle played the very important role of “parking attendant”. It was a day filled with family and absolutely zero drama. This family came together to create a beautiful and special day for T & N, and on top of that, they made us feel like we were part of the family. By the end of the night Grams had put us on the list for family Christmas dinner! She let us know that we had in fact been adopted into the family.

The ceremony was beautiful and intimate. It was set at the bride's parents' farm yard. Homegrown flowers and greenery were placed all around and there were beautiful arches and antique doors leading down the aisle. If you listened closely you could even hear the sound of the rooster crowing and the cows mooing. The bride was stunning as she glided down the aisle towards the groom. They said “I do” in front of all their family and friends and loaded into a motor home with their bridal party to go snap some photos!

We started off at the Hanna Pioneer Museum & Village. We were able to grab some fun photos on the grandstand, train station, chapel and in front of a very old brick building. If you’ve never had the chance to check out the museum, I highly recommend stopping. There is so much to see!

Next we went to the Hanna Dam to snap a few more photos with the wedding party and with the bride and groom's fur-baby. We had so many laughs! We finished off the photos with a few intimate photos in the grass before they loaded up in the motor home and headed for the reception!

The reception was filled with laughter, love, and good food. The cupcakes were especially delicious! Ryan wanted to share, but unfortunately for him he only got one small bite. HAHA! This family not only knows how to give an amazing welcome to the family speech but they also know how to dance!

This is why we love weddings. We love to watch families come together to create something special. We love to see the love and the laughter and the sparkles. And most of all, we love when we fit in so well that we are adopted and invited to Christmas dinner.
