One Night a Few Moons Ago…
There is something to be said about the quiet moments late at night allowing you to really think… Just letting your mind wander. During the calming softness of that time, one evening, between night and twilight, with the little little snuggled up in my arms, it hit me. Snow on a beach, now that would be a photo! My mind continued to wander, flirting between the dream world and the real world. Taylor Swift playing off in the distance… How could I capture that photo anywhere close to home? Man that photograph would be high up on the bucket list… The soft morning light started to creep into the window, and it was time to awaken… Dreams left for another day. This was one dream that I could not shake and anyone that knows me, knows I can have a problem with hyper focusing on the most random of things.
Snow on a beach… Where? Of course! It was road tip time to Saskatchewan.
Even if there is no snow on the ground the sand and fall colours would be very pretty for a landscape photo. But wait, how do I make it even more epic? OH… those flying dresses I saw online! Man that would be so good.
Okay, let's work the photographer friend network… Bingo! Flying dresses secured. Model?? Hmm… “Hey so I have this idea for a creative photography session… It's a flying dress in the sand dunes… would you be my model?” “I love road trips, let's go!”
2:00 am, the drive starts… There is snow… First stop. “Hey its snowed, like really snowed” “Oh man, I hope the hills have snow! I guess we will know in a few hours around sunrise”
All this to say, if you try hard enough and chase those fleeting thoughts, you really can find snow on a beach.
