Love That Grows: From Vows to Babies

There’s something incredibly special about watching love grow beyond a wedding day.

When we first meet our couples, it’s usually during a season filled with anticipation—planning vows, choosing details, dreaming about a future together. On a wedding day, we’re invited into one of the most meaningful chapters of their story. We witness the quiet glances, the deep breaths before walking down the aisle, the joy that spills out when two lives officially become one. It’s an honour we never take lightly.

And then, sometimes, we get the message: “We’re expecting.”

Those words never get old.

Seeing our wedding couples return to us—this time with baby bumps, nursery dreams, and a whole new kind of love—feels like coming full circle. The love we once photographed as a promise to build a life together now shows up as a heartbeat, tiny kicks, and hands resting protectively over a growing belly. It’s the same love, just deeper, softer, and somehow even more powerful.

Photographing these next chapters is a reminder that weddings aren’t just one-day events. They’re the beginning of families, of traditions, of moments that will be retold for generations. We recognize familiar laughter, the same way they lean into each other, the comfort they’ve built over time—now paired with an entirely new excitement and tenderness.

There’s also something beautifully grounding about being trusted again. To be invited back into our couples’ lives as they step into parenthood is a privilege we hold close. These sessions often feel less posed and more intimate. They’re slower, more intentional. They’re about connection, anticipation, and the quiet magic of becoming parents.

As photographers, this is why we do what we do. Not just to capture milestones, but to tell long stories. To document love as it evolves. To walk alongside families through multiple seasons of life—from “I do,” to “we’re expecting,” and maybe even the chance to one day photograph those tiny feet running through the Badlands, laughter echoing through the valley.

To our couples who have grown their families—thank you for letting us be part of your journey. Watching your love expand is one of the greatest joys of our work, and we can’t wait to continue telling your stories, one chapter at a time
