Love in a Canola Field

This wonderful couple got married during the winter months in a beautiful mountain wedding but wanted to have a local reception/party with their friends and family to celebrate their marriage. They asked us to capture both couple and family photos during the day. They had family coming from out of country and wanted to make sure all the memories were captured of this special day.

We started out with family photos. In typical Drumheller fashion it was a super hot summer day. But despite the uncomfortable heat, everyone was super fun and cooperative. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to photograph!

The groom requested canola field photos in the field right next to town. I was so excited because I knew just how stunning this canola backdrop would be. They owned this field and so when the groom asked “what do you think about bringing the tractor into the photos?” to which I replied “hell yeah!” The combination of beautiful people, a stunning canola field and a big red tractor is a photographers dream.

While the groom was off getting the tractor I was able to capture a small family session for the brides sister who came up, with her beautiful family, from Texas for the special day. I was so hot that day but these kids from Texas, in full black-tie attire, complaining it was cold out. I was flabbergasted! HAHA. They were the most amazing family and I was so grateful for the opportunity to photograph them. Here are some of their photos:

Once the groom got back with the tractor we were able to capture some more amazing photos in the canola field. The combination of the yellow canola and the red tractor was so perfect *chefs kiss*

When the couple/family photos were wrapped up we headed to a local hall. I couldn’t believe how stunning the mother-of-the-bride made that little country hall. It just goes to show, that with some hard work and a vision you can dress up any space.

The most amazing end to an already perfect day, was when the bride and groom announced that they were expecting their first baby! Follow along with our blogs to see their beautiful maternity photos.
